Her new position is assigned to Department 12. Department 12 (Operational Management in Special Situations) in Selm is organizationally assigned to Division 1 within the LAFP NRW.
- Sub-Department 12.1 provides training for managers in special operations and for members of the riot police.
- Sub-Department 12.2 is primarily responsible for conducting introductory and adaptation training for the special task forces and negotiation groups of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
- Sub-Department 12.3 is responsible for conducting introductory and adaptation training for the mobile task forces and the technical task forces of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as for the State Security Investigation Unit of the LKA NRW.
- Department 12.4 provides driving and safety training as well as drone training for specific target groups of the police and has its organizational locations in the training centers in Münster and Linnich.
Your new tasks:
- Preparation, implementation and follow-up of training events in the field of “Further training in media monitoring, communication in social media, OSINT” of the NRW police based on current scientific standards.
- Implementation and controlling of introductory and adaptation training measures for the NRW police, as well as for the IM NRW, other state and federal authorities and foreign specialist departments.
- Conception and evaluation of subject-specific training events with special consideration of the latest scientific findings as well as legal and security-relevant factors in the areas of media monitoring, communication in social media, and OSINT.
- Development and creation of manuals/training materials as well as IT-supported training materials.
- Continuous evaluation of the above-mentioned topics, taking into account national and international developments and scientific findings.
- Carrying out administrative tasks for Department 12, including providing internal technical advice on the preparation of statements and templates for training on the above-mentioned topics of national interest.
- Ongoing conceptual design and further development of the strategic direction of the NRW police's training in the areas of media monitoring, social media communication, and OSINT. Quality management
- Participation in state and national working and project groups as well as national and international specialist committees in the field of further training for the integration of the above-mentioned subject areas into interdisciplinary operational management.
- Expert advice for the IM NRW, other state and federal authorities as well as foreign specialist departments on topic-specific issues.
- Development and updating of didactic principles and standards for teachers, teaching and learning materials as well as teaching operations.
YOUR PROFILE
What you need to bring:
- Completed university degree in communication science, media studies or social sciences
or - Verifiable qualification/successful further training in the areas of OSINT, social media management, social media analysis, data science, or information brokering in conjunction with a completed university degree in data science, information science, (media/business/administrative/geo-)informatics, journalism, cognitive science, educational science, digital humanities, psychology, or criminology
Desirable criteria:
- (Didactic) knowledge and skills in teaching activities in adult education
- Foreign language skills in English (at least B2)
- Knowledge of modern, digital learning methods (blended learning, Moodle)
- Knowledge of tutorials, podcasts, and reels/vlogs
- Knowledge of standard software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Knowledge of OSINT, monitoring, and analysis software (e.g., Maltego Monitor)

Selection decision:
The selection decision is based on human resources considerations. Teaching aptitude is determined through an assessment center consisting of a specialist presentation and a classroom situation with discussion.
The assessment center is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2025.
