Investigations & Intelligence Operative
Job Description
Sombra Global is expanding its Investigations & Intelligence Division (IAM SCIO).
We are seeking disciplined, intelligent operatives capable of supporting sensitive investigative tasking where discretion is not optional and failure is not acceptable.
This is not a routine surveillance role. Assignments may involve intelligence-led investigations, behavioural analysis, OSINT research, pattern of life development, and operational support for higher-level risk environments.
Sombra is selective by design. We do not recruit for volume. We recruit for suitability.

Operational Responsibilities
Operatives may be tasked in support of:
- Covert and overt surveillance (static and mobile)
- Intelligence-led evidence gathering and investigative development
- Pattern of Life (PoL) assessment and behavioural analysis
- Subject profiling and structured background intelligence gathering
- OSINT research and digital intelligence development
- Pre-operational reconnaissance and discreet site assessment
- Counter-surveillance awareness and anti-hostile reconnaissance principles
- Assisting with Technical Surveillance Counter-Measures (TSCM) support operations where required
- Threat and vulnerability identification
- Operational logging, evidential continuity, and structured reporting
- Producing professional reports suitable for corporate and legal environments
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and operational security at all times
Minimum Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (mandatory)
- 5-year checkable employment / education history
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to pass vetting and background screening
- Strong written English (report writing is essential)
- High situational awareness and sound judgement
- Calm temperament under pressure
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to work extended hours where required
- Strong personal discipline and discretion
Preferred Background / Qualifications
- Previous surveillance or investigative experience
- Intelligence or investigations-related qualifications (Level 3+)
- OSINT capability or formal training
- Military / police / intelligence background welcomed (not required)
- First Aid at Work (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Conflict management training
- Advanced driving qualification
SIA Licence is preferred but not essential.
Holding an SIA licence may allow operatives to be considered for additional tasking and future deployments outside investigations work.
