IntraOrbis Ltd is a global investigations company, providing investigation services for leading corporations threatened by intellectual property infringements, grey market, counterfeiting, theft, fraud and other associated risks and threats.
IO, headquartered in Sudbury, Suffolk, has been operating worldwide for 21 years conducting on average 450 investigations a year in over 50 countries and has seen significant growth over the last 3 years with a growing client base who require a diverse range of investigative services and there is a requirement for an additional member of the Operations Team to help achieve the business operational and strategic objectives. Travel time to our Headquarters in Sudbury should be no more than 45 minutes.
The Investigative Researcher / Analyst role will be full time to assist the Operations Manager in the day to day investigative activity and conduct research on a broad range of investigative assignments for our global clients including collecting and collating public information as well as deeper information gathering and research.
Person Specification:
The successful applicant will have experience in investigative work, along with a proven research background, with strong analytical and investigative skills, excellent organisational, IT and administrative abilities, confidence in communicating effectively at all levels of an organisational environment, keen attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload proactively and strong process management skills while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines in a commercial investigation setting.
The applicant should demonstrate drive and self-motivation, strong analytical skills, a natural sense of curiosity, flexibility and adaptability and a commitment to excellence to support IntraOrbis in their delivery of ‘best in class‘ investigations. A keen interest in developing and using artificial intelligence for new investigative offerings would be advantageous.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
● To conduct comprehensive open-source intelligence (OSINT) research across a wide range of investigative assignments. Utilizing advanced techniques to gather, analyse and verify information from the open web, social media platforms and specialised cyber investigation tools to delivery actionable insights to support client objectives with accuracy and discretion.
● Conduct comprehensive investigations using the open web, social media platforms, and specialized cyber tools (e.g., Maltego, Wayback Machine).
● Prepare clear, concise, and actionable reports, synthesising complex findings into digestible insights and provide strategic recommendations to advance investigations, supporting client objectives with evidence-based next steps.
● Assist IO, the Operations Manager to make informed, strategic decisions and recommendations to clients that have a positive impact on their organisations.
● Provide investigative product for clients of all sizes and industries.
● Participate in strategic client calls, meetings and training as required.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
●Demonstrated credentials or substantial experience in investigative work within civil or commercial contexts. With a strong understanding of investigative procedures, whether commercial or criminal and the legal frameworks that govern them.
●Relevant industry experience in investigative research, in particular due diligence, business intelligence research and corporate investigations.
●Effective communication and presentation skills
- ability to communicate research findings in written reports and orally in discussion with clients and other team members;
- skilled in drafting clear, structured investigative reports, proposals and project plans.
● Experience in carrying out detailed research and analysis via proprietary databases, the internet and human sources.
● Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
● Flexibility to take on different types of research.
● The ability to meet deadlines, organise and prioritise workload and multi-task under pressure.
● Meticulous attention to detail, a sense of curiosity and the ability to learn quickly.
● Ability to effectively summarise information from multiple sources into concise analytical assessments.
●Ability to follow all leads through to their natural end, sometimes this involves abstract thinking in order to find the answer.
● Appropriate IT skills to include advanced Word and Excel and Microsoft Office, as well as Google suite of software.
● Strong work ethic, self-motivation, proactivity, adaptability to achieve identified goals and show/use initiative.
Desirable:
● Possession of an access to proprietary databases, existing network of human sources and contacts would be an asset.
● Appropriate professional experience in a similar role.
● Experience of interacting with Investigation Case Management Systems.
● A keen interest and knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI).
