Threat Intelligence Analyst - Tech Against Terrorism

Location: London, hybrid (2-3 days in office per week)

Tech Against Terrorism is recruiting a Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our mission driven team in London. Background

Tech Against Terrorism saves lives and prevents harm by disrupting terrorist activity online and upholding human rights, using OSINT investigation, technical tooling and capacity building for tech platforms. We work closely with the UN, tech platforms, governments and civil society, and are expanding our OSINT Analyst team in the UK. We're particularly interested in candidates with a background in OSINT tooling, product management, or data analysis.

The Role

You will play an integral part in our efforts to save lives by disrupting TVE activity online. Our investigations are used by the global tech industry and governments to understand how TVE actors use the internet, and how to counter it.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor, investigate and analyse emerging TVE activity online, following our OpSec and incident response procedures
• Respond in real time to emerging terrorist incidents online, alerting tech platforms and national authorities
• Produce analytical reports, including using data from the Terrorist Content Analytics Platform (TCAP)
• Lead strategic projects to disrupt TVE use of the internet, supporting capacity building for tech platforms and governments
• Collaborate cross-functionally with OSINT, research and policy analysts, developers and comms
• Liaise with stakeholders including tech platforms, regulators and intergovernmental organisations
• Represent TAT's work at conferences and stakeholder engagements

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience in OSINT work
• Thorough knowledge of OSINT tools, investigative techniques and related methodologies
• Professional experience dealing with graphic, violent or upsetting content
• Excellent intelligence writing skills and experience analysing complex findings
• Demonstrable use of techniques such as the Probability Yardstick, BLUF methodology, Risk Matrices and Analysis of Competing Hypothesis (ACH)
• Right to work in the UK and ability to work from our central London office 2-3 times a week
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally
• Willingness to work flexibly, including an on-call rota covering weekends and public holidays

Desirable: incident response experience, project/product management experience

Personal qualities: solution oriented, well organised and able to manage multiple projects to a high standard. A proactive team player who takes ownership and resolves blockers unprompted. Analytical and improvement-minded, communicates clearly, and makes sound decisions under pressure, with awareness of your own wellbeing and resilience strategies.

This role involves exposure to graphic, violent and/or otherwise distressing content. TAT has Operational Security and Duty of Care policies in place, and provides trauma-specific support and training. Previous experience with disturbing material is essential.
