About the department:

As a Threat Investigation/OSINT/Cyber ​​Analyst, you will set up and operate information collection points in the field of combating politically motivated crime (PMK). You will obtain information from publicly accessible sources to carry out police prosecution duties in cases of terrorism, particularly complex or complicated cases of state security crimes, and selected state security offenses. In Department 2 of the Thuringia State Criminal Police Office, you will work with approximately 100 colleagues, currently spread across four divisions. You will report to a division head and be supervised by a department head.

The area of ​​responsibility essentially includes:

  • Conducting research in freely accessible sources on the Internet (OSINT research) for mission-relevant information in the form of text, images, video and audio
  • Media monitoring and obtaining real-time information to support a wide range of operational situations
  • Initial assessment of mission-relevant information from freely accessible sources to obtain information in relation to the respective operational situation
  • Monitoring the internet and social media during daily operations and as an immediate measure during operations for special reasons
  • Support in the creation of situation reports, situation maps and dashboards, especially in the area of ​​PMK with hazard relevance as well as for force management of operations
  • Conceptual development and evaluation of concepts for OSINT research, tactical communication and monitoring

Your qualifications:

  • Career qualification for the advanced information technology or advanced technical service

  • Completed university degree in data science, (media) computer science or a comparable subject

This position is classified as a higher-level civil service position and offers advancement opportunities up to salary group A 11 of the ThürBesO ( Towns and Services Regulations) . If a civil servant status is not yet established, initial employment is planned under collective bargaining law with pay group 11 TV-L . Employment is only possible if the personal and career-related requirements for civil service appointment, which can be verified in advance, are met. After completing the probationary period under collective bargaining law and fulfilling all personal and career-related requirements, civil service appointment is intended.
