Job Title: Intelligence Trainer/Assessor (Assessment Lead)

Job Overview:
This role is for an experienced Trainer/Assessor who will take the lead on IMSL’s assessment delivery and serve as the primary point of contact for our quality assurance processes. This role is critical to maintaining assessment continuity and will manage our online training platform whilst supporting relationships with our accrediting body and quality assessors.
Job Scope:
This position sits within our Training Team and over time will move to primary responsibility for assessment delivery and platform management. It covers the day-to-day management of our online training platform, the coordination of assessment activities, and serves as the key liaison between our IQA, external quality assessors, and accrediting body.
Beyond the assessment function, the role contributes to the delivery and development of OSINT and intelligence training courses, bringing the job holder’s expertise to enhance course quality and maintain IMSL’s reputation for professional, accredited training delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Platform Administration/Oversight
· To manage the online training platform and ensure operational effectiveness
· To deliver assessment activities across our training portfolio
· To serve as the primary point of contact for our IQA and external quality assessors
· To support the relationship with our accrediting body and coordinate accreditation activities
· To maintain assessment documentation and learner records
· To ensure assessment processes align with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
· To provide continuity in assessment delivery and platform operations
Training Delivery and Development
- To design, develop, and deliver OSINT and intelligence-focused training courses
- To apply assessment expertise to improve course structure and learner outcomes
- To contribute to the continuous development of training content and methodologies
- To support the operational application of OSINT in investigations and analytical workflows
- To stay informed on emerging tools, technologies, and best practices within OSINT and intelligence analysis
- To work collaboratively with the Training Team to drive quality and innovation
Person Specification:
Overview – The job holder will be a reliable and experienced Assessor to lead our assessment delivery and provide critical continuity in this function. Someone who can oversee platform operations, coordinate with quality assurance personnel, and maintain assessment standards whilst also contributing meaningfully to our intelligence training delivery.
The job holder will combine strong organisational and communication skills with a solid understanding of intelligence or investigative work. OSINT knowledge and experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
This is a business-critical role. The job holder will provide stability in our assessment function and serve as a dependable point of contact for all assessment-related activities.
Essential Criteria
1. Proven experience delivering assessments in a vocational or professional training environment
2. Experience managing learner progress and assessment records
3. Confidence managing online learning platforms or willingness to learn quickly
4. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaison with quality assurance personnel
6. Teaching, training, or instructional experience
7. Understanding of intelligence, investigative, or analytical work
Desirable Criteria
1. OSINT knowledge or practical investigative experience
2. Qualified Assessor
3. Experience working with accrediting bodies or quality assurance frameworks
4. Previous experience with specific learning platforms
5. Background in adult education or vocational training
6. Experience supporting accreditation processes or quality reviews
7. Familiarity with assessment planning and feedback processes
