In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- You will design, develop (and manage), primarily as part of a team, software that is important for the AIVD's OSINT capabilities;
- You will perform various tasks and contribute to various projects aimed at improving the service's OSINT capabilities. This may include internal and external projects utilizing the latest technologies, OSINT tool management and use, tool development or plugins on platforms, etc.;
- You will maintain close contact with your clients to gain the best possible understanding of their needs. These may include OSINT Internet Investigators, OSINT experts, or those identifying requirements within the Intelligence Process. You will collaborate within the service with experts from various departments, as well as externally with software engineers and OSINT specialists, both nationally and internationally;
- You will be open to feedback and advice from colleagues and will feel equally comfortable providing it. Your knowledge and experience will contribute to the department's professionalization;

- The salary is based on a full-time workweek. In addition, working for the AIVD comes with a bonus. This bonus is €267.81 upon commencement of employment and increases to a maximum of €840.03 gross per month based on a full-time workweek.

For this position, we're looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience in software design. It's also important that you're comfortable working on projects and with peer reviews. This role involves extensive collaboration and coordination with colleagues within the department, so we're looking for someone who enjoys teamwork.
In addition, you have:
• WO working and thinking level;
• Mastery of OO languages such as C#, Java, Typescript/Javascript, NodeJS, Python, Go;
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Angular and/or React;
• Familiar with (REST) APIs and microservices;
• Experience with internal Cloud Services such as Kubernetes is a plus;

The Operations Directorate carries out operational activities for the Intelligence Directorate's investigations. This work encompasses various technical, advisory, security, and cyber tasks.
The Open Source Intelligence department provides specialized services to all AIVD units for finding information in open, primarily online, sources. Based on this information, other investigative methods can be deployed in a targeted manner. In this way, the staff make a significant contribution to finding the right information and to the security of the Netherlands.
