Role Description:
As ARC seeks to develop and expand its Intelligence department, the company is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to provide support in covering key topics in maritime security. The Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for collecting information and conducting analysis on trends and events that may affect our clients. The role requires a general and broad understanding of global affairs and events in all or some of the following geographical areas of focus:
· West Africa
· The Middle East
· South America
The Intelligence Analyst will report to our Lead Intelligence Analyst. The successful candidate is expected to work out of our office in Woodbury, East Devon; however, a remote working arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
· Researching and advising on trends, events, and circumstances that may affect the safety and security of ARC’s clients and their operations
· Gathering and tracking data on security incidents that take place in the regions of focus
· Contributing to the research and writing of reports and advisory bulletins
· Producing written intelligence online content
· Answering intelligence-related queries and providing timely intelligence guidance to clients and contacts when needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
· A Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field
· 1-3 years of work experience in an intelligence, research, or security-related role
· An aptitude for, interest in, and understanding of global affairs, particularly in ARC’s regions of focus
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong research skills, with an ability to analyse and interpret information gathered within context
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently
· Attention to detail
· Intermediate Excel skills
Desirable Skills and Experience:
· Fluency in a language other than English,
· Data analysis skills
· Data visualisation skills – ability to use a data visualisation software is a bonus
· Familiarity with open-source intelligence research (OSINT) tools
