In Department 6 – Cross-Phenomenon Analysis – a position in the Central Analysis division within
Department 63 – Central Analysis Unit (ZAS) / Case Processing System / Operational Internet Investigations – is to be filled at the next transfer date.

In the area of central analyses, we are the experts for operational investigations (OSINT) and a wide variety of analyses of police data. A wide variety of approaches enable us to identify individuals, networks, and groups, particularly on the internet and in social media, or, for example, to track down target individuals using unusual geolocation methods. The results can be enhanced through specific analyses and evaluations of police databases. We also support the design and implementation of analyses for the evaluation of police databases for individual issues, particularly in the fight against crime. We sometimes use our own specific evaluation and analysis products as well as special commercial software. Cross
-border networking with neighboring security authorities rounds out our responsibilities.
In the state-wide evaluation platform project, Department 63 is working in interdisciplinary teams using agile project management methods and is supporting the introduction of new IT applications for the Rhineland-Palatinate police (including QuestRP and IKAROS).

Your tasks

  • OSINT research and analysis of police data with regard to police issues.
  • Advice and investigative support for Rhineland-Palatinate police departments in cases requiring high levels of analysis.
  • Analysis of unstructured mass data (including telecommunications data, GPS data) that arise in connection with investigative support.
  • Creation of motion pictures, pattern analyses, timelines with geographical evaluations (spatial crime analysis) for police departments in Rhineland-Palatinate.
  • Participation in projects, e.g. the evaluation platform (development of new IT applications for the Rhineland-Palatinate police, such as QuestRP, IKAROS).
  • Participation in statewide and national meetings/committees related to analysis.

Educational qualification

What you bring with you

  • Police officers from Rhineland-Palatinate who are qualified for the third entry-level position (formerly higher service) with a bachelor's degree or equivalent studies at a police college or comparable training are eligible to apply.

Requirements

  • Comprehension, reasoning and judgment skills, written and oral expression, ingenuity and initiative, sense of responsibility and willingness to take responsibility, resilience, cooperation and teamwork.

Willingness to participate in on-call duty, to arrange flexible working hours depending on the situation, to undertake business trips lasting several days and to undertake ongoing further training and development is required.

Due to the sometimes demanding and cost-intensive training measures, a medium-term service in the State Criminal Police Office (at least 5 years) is aimed for.

It would be desirable

  • A three-year assignment in police case processing.
  • Reference to social media and internet research.
  • Affinity to IT applications.
