Are you looking for a job with impact? At the Defense Cyber Command, we are seeking a Senior Open Source Intelligence Researcher (OSINT). Intelligence is crucial for planning and executing military cyber operations. As a researcher, you will contribute to the acquisition of Open Source Intelligence to enable military (offensive) cyber operations.
You're a key sensor in the intelligence process of military cyber operations. Together with your colleagues, you'll ensure the intelligence needed to achieve operational objectives is available. Your knowledge of intelligence, open-source research (including social media), and, of course, cybersecurity is a key component of our success.
You conduct in-depth research into publicly available information, primarily based on the intelligence needs of military cyber operations and secondarily on those of other intelligence agencies. You are the point of contact and advisor for OSINT within your work environment and the representative externally. You are also responsible for acquiring, developing, and maintaining OSINT knowledge.

Who are we looking for?
For this position, it is particularly important that you have experience and knowledge in OSINT, SOCMINT, and an affinity for cybersecurity. You are skilled in conducting research (in open sources), applying research and analysis methods and techniques, and writing and presenting OSINT semi-finished and final products.
Knowledge/Education:
- Relevant HBO/WO education or equivalent working and thinking level
- Additional courses in the use of the internet, social media, conducting research on the internet, social media and with information providers
Experience:
- Extensive experience with OSINT
- Extensive (technical) knowledge of online (social media) platforms and information sources
Desired:
- Experience with scripting or programming languages
- Experience in the intelligence domain (e.g. preferably MIVD)
- Experience in the cyber domain
- Experience working in a joint environment
- Experience working within the MIVD, in particular as an OSINT researcher

- A good command of spoken and written English
- You have Dutch nationality and have lived in the Netherlands for the past 10 years.

If you only use your public transport subscription for commuting, you do not have to pay a contribution for this.

The Department of Defense Cyber Command (DCC)
The Defense Cyber Command is part of the Central Staff. The DCC provides the digital clout for peace and security. With Multidisciplinary Cyber Teams, we conduct military cyber operations in the interests of the Netherlands and its allies. This can be done independently or integrated with other armed forces units to deliver the desired military effect.
We can attack, manipulate, or disable opponents' digital systems. These can include systems belonging to other countries or (terrorist) organizations. To this end, the DCC works closely with the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD). Furthermore, the DCC is the knowledge authority for military cybersecurity. We provide education and training for the entire armed forces. Professionals within and outside the Ministry of Defence can turn to us for knowledge and expertise.
In addition to the Commander (C-DCC) and the Deputy Commander (P-DCC), the DCC consists of a staff and four units: the Military Cyber Operations Task Force (MCO), the Cyber Readiness Force (CRF), the Cyber Warfare & Training Centre (CWTC) and the Cyber Reservists (CyRes).

A security clearance (possibly a psychological assessment and/or requesting references) and an online screening are part of the application procedure. Dutch nationality or a combined residence and work permit (GVVA) is required for this. Your partner and other people in your circle may be screened by the MIVD (Military Intelligence and Security Service).
