Junior Intelligence Analyst - Schillings

We are looking for a curious and highly motivated Junior Intelligence Analyst to help build a new intelligence and threat monitoring function within a private family office.

This is an opportunity to develop practical intelligence skills. The role is embedded in a close-knit, high-trust environment. It will involve real-time monitoring, online research and incident triage as well as investigations into privacy, security and reputational risks.

The analyst will predominately work closely with the Senior Intelligence Lead but may also coordinate with specialist external advisers. They will gain exposure to varied and meaningful work, helping to build a new capability from an early stage.

The analyst will work a staggered pattern alongside the Senior Intelligence Lead to help extend coverage across the day. This may mean the Senior Intelligence Lead starting earlier and the junior analyst working later.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct monitoring of news, social media and other sources and research to identify privacy, security, reputational and strategic risks that might affect the principal, family and associated interests.
• Assess and escalate significant developments and emerging threats in line with agreed protocols.
• Undertake open-source intelligence research to support investigative enquiries.
• Produce concise intelligence updates, alerts, briefing notes and research reports.
• Support travel risk assessments, event briefings and other intelligence products.
• Assist with due diligence enquiries on potential new business relationships.
• Maintain intelligence records, monitoring logs and research repositories.
• Support the management of intelligence tools, databases and monitoring platforms.
• Work with the Senior Intelligence Lead and external advisers to strengthen intelligence capability and best practice.
• Handle sensitive information discreetly and comply with legal, ethical and information security requirements, including lawful collection principles when conducting OSINT research.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Degree in intelligence, international relations, political science, criminology, journalism, security studies or a related field; or at least one year of equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and exercise discretion in a high-trust environment.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate information critically and identify key insights.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in, or able to quickly learn, online research tools, OSINT platforms and digital monitoring systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.

Desirable

• Practical OSINT experience through employment, internships or academic work.
• Experience with media monitoring tools or investigative software.
• Knowledge of social media research techniques.
• Experience setting up, maintaining or reviewing online profiles for research, monitoring or protective purposes, including awareness of legal, ethical and operational considerations around online interaction.
• Russian language capability or familiarity with using Russian-language translation tools (training can also be provided).
• Interest in geopolitical, security or reputational risk issues.
• Previous security clearance or eligibility to obtain security clearance.
• Experience working within a secure or controlled environment.
• Experience supporting monitoring, intelligence or investigative functions.
