The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees and is organized into seven police regions, a number of national departments and an office. The authority is in a period of extensive growth that will continue in the coming years. This is to be able to meet the challenges of the future. Working for the police is about creating security in people's lives every day.

The Stockholm Police Region consists of the counties of Stockholm and Gotland. The operations in the region are organized into four police areas: North, City, South and Gotland, which together are divided into 19 local police areas. There are also four regional units: the border police, the operational unit, the intelligence unit and the investigation unit, a regional office and national departments that are represented in the region to provide support to police operations.

Intelligence Unit and Analysis Group

The Intelligence Unit in the Stockholm Police Region is responsible for intelligence activities within the region. The unit conducts operational and strategic intelligence efforts with the aim of preventing, deterring and detecting criminal activity.

The analysis group is in turn primarily responsible for the unit's strategic production at the regional level. The analyses and assessments carried out within the group are mainly aimed at generating knowledge for the authority and directing operations in a longer term perspective towards set goals. Since the strategic knowledge should be able to be translated into operational activities, a significant part of the group's production functions as support and a starting point for decision-making, also in the shorter term perspective.
