The Danish Police is a rapidly developing organization, and must therefore continuously adapt to the demands and trends of a complex and modern world. In this process, it is crucial that the police have associated other professional groups, as a supplement to the police training. This job posting has its focus on the Internet - you must therefore be familiar with obtaining information on the Internet and have a flair for using social media.

The job

As an information specialist, you will be a key person in obtaining information on the police's diverse cases - especially in connection with crimes that endanger people. Your tasks primarily consist of targeted and systematic monitoring, collection, analysis and assessment in given areas or topics.

Your tasks may include, together with police investigators, identifying information that would benefit the police investigation, including investigations involving a high degree of sensitivity, due to the seriousness of the cases and their impact on the society around us. It is important to point out that police work is associated with great unpredictability, as it is events in society that shape our professional everyday lives. It is important to be able to maintain a sharp and thorough focus on the specific task, but at the same time also be prepared to change course at short notice.

Unfortunately, crime is not only committed between 8am and 4pm, which is why there may be an urgent need for your skills outside of regular working hours. However, your working day will predominantly take place during the day. Conversely, flexibility in daily life is also offered.

It is expected that you will continuously monitor the challenges facing the Danish police and Danish society in general. Through your work, you will help ensure that the Central and West Zealand Police work on a solid knowledge and analysis-based basis.

We are looking for a profile that:

• Has competence in obtaining information on the internet
• Has a good knowledge of social media is an advantage
• Has experience in - and ability to - understand large amounts of data and extract the essence
• Can switch between quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Has the courage to testify in court

We expect you as a person to:

• Has broad socially relevant knowledge with knowledge of current social conditions
• Is a strong communicator and understands how to adapt your communication to the relevant target group
• Is an experienced user of the Microsoft Office package, including Excel

We offer

A dynamic and exciting workplace with diverse work tasks. We are a unit consisting of 16 colleagues including a manager. We are a mix of police graduates, office workers and academics. Physically we are located at Roskilde police station, Skovbogade 3, 4000 Roskilde, but as a unit we service the entire Midt- & Vestsjællands Police.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the current organizational agreement for office workers in the state between the Ministry of Finance and HK/STAT, as well as the OAO-S collective agreement.

If you have an academic background, you will be employed on collective agreement terms in accordance with the agreements currently in force between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organisation of Danish Academics. Alternatively, you will be employed on another relevant collective agreement.

It is a prerequisite for employment that you can be security cleared, and you must be able to maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
