Job description

  • You will head the Sensor Planning department as part of the Sensor Department and carry out fundamental tasks for the Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) department.
  • You coordinate and monitor the ongoing documentation of the sensor planning process steps in the OSINT databases.
  • You are responsible for developing the search strategy for the reconnaissance requests received with defined information needs of the Military Intelligence Service (MilNW) and coordinating this with other areas of the OSINT department.
  • As part of the security and risk assessment, they define specifications and develop recommendations for security and risk management measures for conducting reconnaissance activities. They monitor the implementation of and compliance with specified and recommended security and risk management measures, as well as the correct application of OSINT procedural principles, compliance with data protection regulations, and other legal and other requirements for the Military Intelligence Service.
  • You will evaluate OSINT techniques and procedures of the armed forces, assess their performance from an IT perspective and identify improvements, which you will then provide to the responsible authorities in the form of specific feedback.
  • You are the central contact person for the OSINT department for all questions regarding the operation and further development of OSINT IT support.
  • You will identify, plan, and initiate training needs for the Sensor Division's staff in close coordination with the division and department management. If necessary, you will independently conduct training measures for OSINT Division staff.
  • They participate in specialist conferences and working meetings at national and international levels.
  • Willingness to travel regularly at home and abroad and, if necessary, to give lectures is required.
  • Participation in regular and ongoing training and continuing education is required.

WHAT MATTERS TO YOU

  • You will be employed on a permanent, full-time basis.

  • A classification is made up to pay group 14 of the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD).
  • You will receive a non-tariff skilled worker allowance of up to 1,000 euros gross.
  • You will work full-time or part-time. The duties will be performed on-site at the office.

Qualification requirements

WHAT MATTERS TO US

  • You have successfully completed a master's or university diploma in computer science, information technology or comparable.
  • You have foreign language skills in English with a proficiency level of at least C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Through your entire conduct you declare your commitment to the free democratic basic order as defined by the Basic Law.
  • You agree to participate in an enhanced security screening.
  • Successful completion of the Ü2 level security clearance is mandatory to fill the advertised position.

DESIRED

  • You have experience in process and project planning, the analysis of mass data using modern, IT-supported working methods and databases, and have advanced basic knowledge in the field of data science, proven by at least one professional activity.
  • You have experience in the working methods and procedures in the field of military intelligence (MilNW), proven by at least one professional activity.
