What are you going to do?
How can you use information from the internet to protect naval vessels at sea? How can information that is online cause the commander of a naval vessel to turn port instead of starboard? Which online information is real and which is disinformation? As an assistant analyst OSINT, you ensure that relevant information is turned into intelligence.
As an assistant analyst OSINT you work with secret intelligence, you assess open sources and together with the team you make crucial analyses to support military operations. Your work is of vital importance for missions at sea and beyond.

The CZSK/OPS/MHK/N2 department
As an assistant analyst OSINT, you will work at the Naval Forces Command (CZSK) or the Royal Netherlands Navy. The OSINT cell is part of the Maritime Analysis Centre, which has a total of six intelligence cells. These six departments work closely together to create all-round intelligence products. Creating a good product therefore always requires teamwork.
Before you get started, you will first follow a number of training courses:
- At least 2 maritime intelligence training courses totaling 8 weeks in Den Helder;
- A tailor-made program at the Maritime Headquarters in Den Helder at the Maritime Intelligence department (MHK N2);
- Depending on your prior knowledge, you will follow vocational training courses lasting several weeks.
Before you really start, you will be in training for a period. On the one hand, this is to learn to understand the intelligence world of the Royal Navy, and on the other hand, to learn OSINT methods within Defence.
Because you will be working within an intelligence organization that is directly involved in operations and is a participating section within the Action Center of the Maritime Headquarters, you must be prepared to work emergency hours in exceptional cases.
