Job Description
The Berlin Office for the Protection of the Constitution is the intelligence agency of the state of Berlin. It serves to protect the free democratic constitutional order as well as the existence and security of the federal and state governments. It fulfills this mandate, among other things, by collecting and evaluating information on extremist and terrorist activities. As an "early warning system," it informs political leaders and the relevant authorities about developments and impending threats and informs the public through comprehensive reports.
The Senate Department for the Interior and Sport – Department for the Protection of the Constitution – is seeking to fill the following position:
Administrative assistant in the evaluation (focus on OSINT) in the field of Salafism/Islamist terrorism (f/m/d)
Reference number: II 28/25
Salary group/pay group: A13 S, E12 TV-L
Entry: immediately (depending on the duration of the required security clearance) immediately, permanent
Part-time, full-time with 40 or 39.4 hours per week.
Part-time employment is possible within the framework of the usual models.
Your tasks
Your tasks will include in particular:
• Internet research and analysis, including in foreign languages (especially English, Arabic, and/or Russian)
• Analysis of findings and preparation of notes
• Cooperation with (security) authorities at state and federal level
This is a security-sensitive activity. Therefore, the willingness and consent to undergo an enhanced security clearance (SÜ 3) in accordance with the Berlin Security Clearance Act (Section 13 BSÜG) is required to perform this task. Please note that employees of the Berlin Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) perform a security-sensitive activity and are therefore subject to the travel restrictions listed in Section 14 (1) No. 18 BSÜG (see also the Federal Ministry of the Interior's list of states) when traveling to and through countries subject to special security regulations.

- civil servants who have the career qualification for the first entry-level position in career group 2 in the general administrative service, non-technical administrative service or police service career branch
- people who have completed a degree (FH diploma or bachelor's degree) in administrative, social, cultural, political or Islamic studies (as well as Arabic or Oriental studies), modern history, sociology or comparable courses of study.
Due to the required SÜ, only individuals who can officially prove their permanent residence in the Federal Republic of Germany for at least five years (e.g., a current residents' register extract) are eligible to apply. This also applies to the person affected (life partner/wife/husband).

- very good knowledge of political extremism (Salafism/Islamist terrorism)
- in-depth knowledge of the methodology of operational evaluation
- Ability to identify extremism from the available material and to comprehensively evaluate and categorize statements accordingly
- very good knowledge of internet/social media
non-academic requirements:
To fulfill these tasks, we are seeking a cooperative individual with strong organizational skills, a willingness to perform, learn, and embrace change, as well as a goal- and results-oriented approach. Ideally, communication skills, structured thinking, and a service-oriented approach would round out your profile.
